that their seq #numbers are in ranges of generally thousands for servers, barmen and
management.
6. Select a working employee you want to use as a template (the new employee will work and
have the same rights as this employee).
7. Once this is highlighted click the green plus sing on top of the screen.
8. This will open a new block in the middle of the screen:
As above: Ensure that Add Employee Record from Template is selected.
Type the new employees Name and Surname and Check Name. Please use the full first name
and surname as the Check Name.
Ensure that the property is correct. Leave the ID as 0 if you are going to assign them a Micros
mag card, if you are using finger print scanners (Biometric) please use the Record Number
listed blow the ID field as their ID and press OK. This will prompt:
To add another Employee say yes if not say No. The record will then be saved.
9. At this stage if a manager was added that will need access to MyMicros please follow the next
steps.
10. Open the Employee Record by a double click on it. The following will appear:
Under EMC Login: Assign a Username and Password. The password needs to be Alpha
Numeric, and at least one alpha needs to be caps. It also requires a special character (!@#$).
You cannot use your name, surname, password or the hotel name as a password.

After the configuration had been done in EMC, you will need to go to the Micros Workstation
and assign the Employee Card or finger to the newly created Employee.
For this Sign in to the Workstation: Then select Functions:
This will take you to Functions. Click Manager Functions on the right side tab.
Select Assign employee ID or Assign Employee Fingerprint depending which one you will
assign:
If you selected Assign Employee ID follow this step, if you selected Assign Employee
Fingerprint skip this step and proceed to the next step.
This will open the list of Employees. Select the Employee that needs a Micros Card assigned
and click EDIT.
The Assign Employee ID will pop up, swipe the new Micros Card. This will save the card to the
Employee and close. Exit the screen and then test the newly assigned card.
The new card will now be ready for use.
If you selected Assign Employee Fingerprint follow this step.
This will open the list of Employees. Select the Employee that needs to be assigned. Click
Enroll Fingerprint.
Please ensure the employee fingers are clean prior to scanning. The finger must be placed
steadily on the scanner and not move around. They will need to scan each finger three times
successfully in a row, thereafter it will prompt if you want to scan a new finger. If it states
failed reading finger try again, if it continues please use a different finger. We recommend
scanning three fingers in case one gets injured and cannot be used. As a general rule we scan
index fingers and thumbs so everybody knows which fingers were scanned to prevent
confusion which finger was scanned.
Once it is done wait 5 seconds and try to sign in with your finger, it is recommend to update
the other workstations prior to trying to sign in to them.
